Green Lily was founded after years of working with children who struggled to succeed in traditional childcare settings. We saw the need for a program that blends high-quality early childhood education with individualized developmental support.

Through a trauma-informed care approach within a culturally responsive environment, Green Lily Behavioral Health prioritizes the mental and behavioral health of the family as a unit, ensuring that each member, including those in need of special needs education, has access to quality childcare and the opportunity to live their best life.

Our quality childcare program incorporates the 'Early Childhood Indicators of Progress,' ensuring that activities are planned with children's individual needs in mind, including those requiring special needs education. We emphasize a developmentally appropriate learning model that fosters arts, crafts, and creativity, while also promoting physical activity and motor skills. Additionally, our approach includes trauma-informed care to support social and emotional growth.

Our facilities are designed to provide quality childcare in a comfortable and safe environment where children can learn and play. We have age-appropriate toys, books, and equipment, as well as outdoor play areas and a nutritious meal program that supports special needs education and fosters trauma-informed care.
Green Lily partners with families to identify developmental needs early, build children's confidence and skills through individualized, evidence-based care, and prepare every child for lifelong success. We don't just teach children-- we coach families. We offer:
Our teachers have a passion for kids and possess extensive knowledge in Early Childhood Education. They work diligently to make a difference in the lives of early childhood students, particularly in the realm of special needs education. By collaborating with outside service providers, our educators ensure that your child receives quality childcare and trauma-informed care tailored to their unique needs.
Green Lily welcomes children who may benefit from additional developmental, social-emotional, behavioral, or individualized support within their early childhood environment.

Derek and Michelle Buscovick have worked with children, professionally, of varying ages over the past 10 years.
Derek has worked for Rochester Public Schools in a high behavior setting and has spent the last 4 years as a Mental Health Practitioner working with students of varying disabilities who tend to be more violent to coach, model and prompt how the students respond to any heightened emotion they may encounter.
Michelle has, with the help of Derek, created a successful in-home childcare attracting many children and families in need of care for their neurodivergent child who for varying reasons weren’t able to continue receiving childcare in a traditional center or in-home setting.
Michelle went on to earn her Bachelor's in Special Education Teaching and Elementary Education receiving a dual license as a Elementary Teacher and an Academic and Behavioral Strategist, focusing on the needs of the child and bridging the gap between traditional education and neurodiverse populations. To better serve her students, she furthered her education in Curriculum and Instruction by earning a Master's Degree to differentiate instruction to fit the diverse needs of students in today's world.
Michelle's past five years have been spent working for Rochester Public Schools assisting in building a program for middle school students needing an Alternative Learning Environment to access their education.
