Melinda Guerra, Teacher

Hello! My name is Melinda, and I’m the Blue Room Teacher at Green Lilly Behavioral Health. In the Blue Room, we provide a structured and supportive environment that focuses on Pre-K readiness and helping each child grow toward greater independence. Our goal is to encourage children to become confident learners while also building strong, positive connections with their parents.

I take pride in helping our kids gain the skills and confidence they need to be ready for kindergarten academically, socially, and emotionally. At Green Lilly, we understand that every child learns differently, and we work hard to create a space where they feel safe, understood, and celebrated for who they are.

One of my greatest joys as a teacher is watching the children grow and reach their goals whether it’s mastering a new skill, expressing their feelings more clearly, or simply finding joy in learning. I welcome every child with open arms into a caring and consistent environment where they can truly thrive.

Outside of work, I enjoy doing lashes, spending time with my family, and shopping. These hobbies keep me creative and grounded, and I bring that same positive energy into the classroom each day.

I’m so proud to be part of the Green Lilly family and to support our wonderful children and families on their journey toward growth, confidence, and success.

Ronie Alger, Assistant Teacher dedicated to supporting childcare professionals

Hello! My name is Ronie, and I’m the Assistant Teacher in the Yellow Room here at Green Lilly behavioral health. Our center specializes in supporting children with unique needs, including behavioral challenges, autism and developmental delays. Many of our amazing children have experienced difficulties in other childcare settings before finding their place here Green Lilly and it’s an honor to help create a safe, understanding, and loving environment where they can truly thrive.

Every day in the Yellow Room brings something new, and while some days can be challenging, I wouldn’t trade this work for anything. Our focus is on helping children regulate their emotions, build confidence, and develop essential skills to prepare for kindergarten and beyond. We take a deeper approach by collaborating with families and therapists, supporting speech development, and helping children work through trauma in a calm and nurturing space.

The Yellow Room is designed for children who need a little extra hands-on support. My coworker and I work closely together to ensure open communication and consistency, always keeping the children’s best interests at heart. I believe that with patience, compassion, and structure, every child can succeed — sometimes all they need is someone to believe in them and give them a chance.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking, painting, doing hair, and coaching swimming. These hobbies help me stay creative and balanced, which I bring back into my teaching each day. I also value building strong, open relationships with parents, because I believe teamwork between home and school is key to a child’s growth and happiness.

I truly love what I do, and I’m so grateful to be part of a program that sees every child for who they are — capable, unique, and deserving of care that goes beyond the surface.
